Mother's Day

this past weekend I went home to Tomball to be with my mom and family for Mother's Day.  I really love going home, mainly because I just love the feeling of utter comfort that washes over me when I enter Tomball, it's really kind of weird to explain.  I had a great time, even though my Mom didn't feel so great on Sunday and we spent the majority of the day napping in front of the television.  I did get to spend some quality time with my BFF Melody and her son, we went to the new Five Guys in Klein and then played with Maddie, my dog.  I miss these two so bad!

maybe the most spoiled cat on the planet, Scruffy

only the cutest little kiddo in the world, Daniel James, my BFF's kid

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!  and I vow to look at like more positively from here on out.  I think I'm learning that just because one thing goes wrong it doesn't mean your life is a failure.  You can keep going, you can make your wrongs right and you can make it! I would however like to catch a break life, so if you are feeling generous, I would really appreciate it.

Quarter of a Century

this past weekend my friend Corey celebrated her 25th birthday with a huge crawfish boil at her lake house.  it was so much fun and a great excuse to have a few beers, eat entirely too much food, mingle with friends from all over, and play in the water!

yum yum yum
HAPPY BIRTHDAY COREY!

"Some days, they last longer than others, but this day by the lake went too fast."

bowling.

While in NY we went bowling.  Okay so let me set this up for you all so you know how epic my bowling game was this night.  So Matt, a guy on our trip, is a great bowler.  Great as in owns his own bowling ball and shoes and plays on a league.  Not great has in professional but if you play that much you should be better than me.  My goal all night was to beat Matt.  Game 3, I bowl 167 (don't judge) to beat Matt!  I also bowled a turkey (three strikes in a row) to finish out the game and secure my victory.  I'm kinda a badass, just saying...It was so much fun!  I do have one question though - Why must I always run into Sooner fans when I'm out?

Good Company

Sunday, Valentines Day, Corey and I went to Beorne for a little girlie brunch and some antique shopping.  We ate at this adorable little cafe called Peach Tree.  I brought my camera along so I could practice using it, and to see what it would be like lugging it around all day, like I will be doing in NYC!
they were having complimentary mimosa's so of course Corey and I had to take them up on their offer...this was my first mimosa experience and I must say...i really enjoyed them! fancy pants!
then we enjoyed cute little girly food.  Corey made the comment that her Dad never knows what to order at this little place, probably because burger or steak is no where to be found on the menu.  I had a BLTA (A is for Avacado) sandwhich and Tomato Basil soup.  delicous!  they also have these little cheese rolls - OMG they are to die for!
then we strolled up and down main street shopping in all the little antique shops and cute clothing boutique's!  i will have to share my fabulous finds with you some other time.  By the way...I really want to take some professional pictures right under that awning...Beorne is beatiful...and just look at the weather...it was perfect!  Great girly Valentines Day!
